A South Texas Story of Hard Work and Service

Named “SUPER LAWYER” in Texas Monthly 12 years in a row.

—–Ray was raised by a single mom, a hero to him. Maria del Carmen lived out her dream of seeing all three of her children graduate from college, despite never graduating from high school herself.  Even with the challenges of raising three kids on her own while balancing a job, sometimes two, she still found the time to volunteer and support her community.

—–This is the South Texas upbringing that shaped Ray Thomas, an attorney named Super Lawyer in Texas Monthly magazine 12 years in a row. Ray has fought for the rights of farm workers, stood up for countless working families, and represented the grieving family members of fallen officers.

—–A Deacon in his church, Ray is known as a rock for his constant readiness to stand by the side of those in need. Ray was appointed as one of the first Commissioners to the Texas Access to Justice Commission, ensuring the rights of every day Texans who can’t afford to hire high-priced attorneys. Also, the Texas Supreme Court appointed Ray to serve on its Grievance Oversight Committee. Which reports to the Court on issues affecting lawyer discipline.

—–Ray Thomas has 30 year of legal experience with complex cases and appeals. His cases have drawn attention from international media. His legal excellence has been repeatedly recognized by his peers.

—–Additionally, Ray Thomas’s record of service to his profession and to the public is equally strong.

—–We invite you to spend some time reviewing the page on this website so you can be certain that Ray Thomas has the experience and qualifications and commitment to serve as your Chief Justice.
